MASSIVELY BEYOND YOUR EXPECTATION: MASS-B 3719 IP CNC CENTER

The production process & material involved in advanced industries present a stark contrast to the woodworking industry Anderson has deeply rooted in. Composite materials require more evaluation and precaution than solid wood due to their unique characteristics, posing more challenges in-process such as micro fine dust and higher tool wear rates.
To Anderson this is not merely a challenge but also a trigger to the evolution on MASS series, the well-known 5 axis CNC center and Anderson’s vanguard into advanced industries. For years Anderson has keep on the solution with latest technologies and feedback from customers in different industries, the effort has finally brings the debut of MASS-B CNC center, the enclosed 5-axis CNC center specific for composite material, advance material and non-ferrous material processing, and it comes in massively beyond your expectation.
FLOWING THROUGH FIELD
While they may seem minor, the fine dusts produced during composite material processing is an issue to be reckon with. Due to highly adhesive, indecomposable and sharp characteristics they can easily pollute working environment and harmful when inhaled/contact by operator. It’s also hard to clean these dusts with regular methods.
To solve this problem MASS-B has provided an effective solution for dust collecting & cleaning through a specially designed push-pull flow field, developed in cooperation with the science team from Central Research Academy, one of leading science research institute in Taiwan.
Once activated, a vortex-like flow will blow through the workspace, capturing fine dust in the air and directing them through the wall-mounted funnel collector into a connected dust extractor. Through the push-pull flows prevents dust from accumulate up on the floor and worktable, making cleanup works easier. When processing on the material with higher density and produce larger chips (e.g. epoxy tooling or aluminum workpiece), sometimes flow field may not be as effective - in these case, just simply sweeps all chips into the dust trap tray behind working table, then flush them out easily with a dust extractor connected at the end.

Large chips can be collected at sunken dust traps behind working table and flush-out with dust extractor.
RETRACTABLE AS WISH
Another iconic feature on MASS-B is the large, retractable roof run across the top of worktable, allowing switch between an enclosed/opened workspace. This design provides a wide range of operational flexibility and convenience: for large/heavy workpiece or fixture, operators can simply open the roof and use overhead crane to load/unload the workpiece or fixture with ease. This significantly enhances the efficiency, reducing downtime and streamlining the workflow.
If the workpiece or jig extends beyond the height of the roof, the machining process can still proceed smoothly with the roof open - this is particularly beneficial for processing taller items that would be restricted by a fixed enclosure.
The large, sliding front doors with transparent acrylic window offers broad visibility inside the workspace, a safety locks on door top ensures safety during the processing. When opened, the front doorway provide another access for forklift to load/unload heavier workpiece or fixture on the working table, either independently or assist the overhead crane to enhance operation effectively.
Retractable roof ensures both enclosed/opening workspace for different purpose and processing
Heavy/large workpiece or fixture can be load/unloaded through forklift or overhead crane effortless.
DUAL POWER WITH DUAL MAGZINES
Surely the core element of a CNC machining center is powerful spindle and tool capacity. MASS-B has equipped the 26 HP liquid-cooled DC spindle developed & manufactured by Anderson Group, featuring high output and rigid tapping ability on various material.
The spindle is held by a casted dual rotating fork, driven by the servo motors with encoders on B & C axis, ensuring fast, stable, precise and simultaneous process from all angles.
For components requiring multiple tools during the process, MASS-B offers a total 40 pcs tools capacity in two sets of 20-position tool carousels. Each carousel is housed separated with an automatic slide door, protecting the tools from dust and ensures tool reliability and performance.
MAKE SURE IT MEASURED
When processing composite materials, high tool wear rate is a critical concern particularly with reinforced materials e.g. carbon-fiber, ceramic matrix composite and aluminum alloy. Without proper monitoring and measurement, worn tools can cause more damage to the spindle and workpiece, resulting in poor performance and material waste.
With Renishaw TS-27R measuring system attached to tool carousel, the tool specification can be measured and input into the AGMVP interface automatically. When a tool is detected to be beyond usable limit, the AGMVP interface alert the operator with screen message, ensuring all tools on the carousels are operational during operation.
Workpiece measurement is also crucial especially for meeting restrict tolerance standard in advanced industries. With the precise Renishaw RMP-60 probing system, MASS-B can accurately positioning the working reference point for designated axes or measuring tolerance on the finished workpieces - all these functions can be selected & activated easily via AGMVP interface.
